California Nurses Association will audit hospitals - 2004-01-13 - San Francisco Business Times:
"The Oakland-based California Nurses Association, which represents 55,000 registered nurses in the state, said Tuesday it will start auditing hospitals to find out if they're meeting new staffing requirements. The union said it will publish the results after its research is done on Jan. 30.

A new state law requiring minimum ratios of patients to nurses in California hospitals went into effect Jan. 1."
